Holland Denton-McCloskey is Legal Operations Manager at McCloskey, Waring, Waisman & Drury LLP.  She is focused on MWWD achieving operational excellence via optimizing strategic planning; training and development; knowledge, program, and financial management; information governance; business intelligence; problem solving; risk management and compliance; building strategic partnerships with service providers; and implementing technology to improve productivity and profitability. Ms. Denton-McCloskey was previously of counsel to MWWD where her practice was focused on advising insurance companies with respect to complex insurance coverage disputes.  She began her legal career at the Federal Defenders of San Diego, where she gained extensive litigation, including jury trial experience in the U.S. District Court, Southern District.  She transitioned to civil practice focusing on business litigation, employment litigation, and personal injury at Solomon, Ward, Seidenwurm & Smith LLP, among other San Diego law firms.  Ms. Denton-McCloskey has both criminal and civil jury trial experience in both Federal and California State courts.   

 

A native Californian, she received her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Southern California (School of Dramatic Arts) and her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law where she was a member of the National Mock Trial Team and recipient of the Order of the Barristers, as well as the Michael T. Thorsnes Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.  Ms. Denton-McCloskey has continued her passion for mock trial as volunteer coach for U.S.D.’s National Mock Trial Team, as well as serving as Attorney Coach for Canyon Crest Academy in the San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competitions.  When she is not working, Ms. Denton-McCloskey enjoys pursuing her M.S. in Conflict Management and Resolution from the U.S.D Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice, cheering on U.S.C Trojan Football, writing plays, singing in bands, and travelling with her family to music festivals.
